~~~I'm glad you brought up the issue of MPG. I have been consistently getting 40 MPG with my 08' KLR (1900 miles on the odometer). As you mentioned, I have to turn onto reserve at 200 miles, I'll stop at a filling station almost immediately and it will take on 5 gallons. I was under the impression I ahould be getting 50 MPG. Hi Michael- This reminds me of a problem that I had with another bike a few years ago that three mechanics couldn't figure out, and took me nearly two years to get beat. The cause ultimately was simple: There was varnish on the inside of my gas tank from old gas. It would randomly slough off in sheets large enough to clog the petcock under vacuum. This would cause the bike to stall, and not start. After a random amount of time with no vacuum applied to the petcock the varnish would float away from the petcock, and all would be fine again for another random amount of time, until another varnish sheet floated against the petcock. The fix was equally simple: I got a gallon of carb cleaner from my local parts house, filled the tank, let it soak overnight, flushed, repeated, and reassembled the bike. Bike ran like a dream after that. Cheers, Matthew
