Anybody had a problem with rectifiers or alternators on a KLR?
If so what are the symptoms?

I haven't heard of any stator failures. I think I've read about a failed regulator once or twice, though. I believe the system quit charging in every case... RM>Anybody had a problem with rectifiers or alternators on a KLR? If so >what are the symptoms?

The rectifier on my A1 cooked itself at 20,000 miles. The symptoms were the gross smell of smoldering electrics and a rectifier connector that was starting to melt. Before that, it had quit charging the battery reliably. A new one was $110.00 mail-order, and that was probably 7 years ago.
