(I am experiencing hearing problems, on my 8 day tour, after the second day I started to wear earplugs because after riding on the highway for six to seven hours my ears were ringing. I use a supertrapp "quiet" version and it probably needs to be repacked, what a chore, anyway I also ride in a nice quiet x-8 helmet.) This probably is due to wind noise more than exhaust note. After 50 mph the noise db is high enuff to effect hearing. This is according to hearing articles I read and the dudes that run the hearing tests we do in the oil business once in awhile. Good comfortable ear plugs is the only way to go. You can do from the Ear specialist form fit couple hundred bucks dudes to the buck a pair foam inserts. I use the latter and like the Max pink preshaped ones. Ha ha the pink tips and feel of them make me smile. I also do the EAR yellow taper fits but they are large and start bugging me after several hours in the saddle. I have used the MAX for 18 hour riding days without problems. -- Best Regards & Happy Trails Andy Chesley @ 57 and ticking Y2KLR650 @ 5.4K sMiles 97 R11RA (Amiga) @ 14K Miles So Many Roads, So Little Time http://members.deltech.net/aches/

My hearing loss occurred more from the sound of moaning and screaming women than riding motorcycles -- I should have known! LOL. ________________________________________ PeoplePC Online A better way to Internet http://www.peoplepc.com

Listers, This just hit the BMW Marketplace. I don't know more than what's in the add but it seems appropriate to pass this to you for consideration since hearing loss has recently been a topic. Ya... they can get pretty loud when they do not want you touching them for some reason. ;-) Dooden A15 Green Ape
