new handlebar for klr?

I found that there is now info out there in newer manuals that says 18 foot pounds is the correct number for the lower clamp bolts (that squeeze the steel lower clamp) and that 14 foot pounds is the spec for the top bolts (that squeeze the aluminum top clamp). Hi All, I'm still looking to buy a KLR and haven't found much around my local area yet. I'm curious though about the A 19, A 10 etc. Is it something that I should know about when making a purchase? Thanks, Bob, in the Kootenays

The FAQ is something you should read before buying. Oh, and it includes an answer to "What is this "An" people keep mentioning?". The answer: "This is a letter code that indicates the submodel and year of the bike. "A" bikes are for the US market, B is the Tengai, and C is the Canadian/European model. The number n represents the year of manufacture, with 1 as the first year. An "L" at the end of an A designation means that it is a California bike (with a smog cannister).
