Got an email from the editor of the D37 newsletter and they are going to use my
ride reports as a story in this month's newsletter. Most of you have already read them (or
don't care to) but I thought it was pretty funny that an east coaster gets some print in a west
coast newsletter.
The woman said most of their members would say what I did was not dual sporting
because I was on too much pavement. I told her that if you don't include some pavement
then it's just off-roading, not dual sporting.
She laughed and said she wanted to run the story in part because a lot of people
in the LA area complain about having to ride 2 hours to the start of the ride in Lancaster
and she wanted them to see what some people go through just to get to the ride. They
are also trying to encourage more "adventure bikes" to participate and thought that my
story my help.
Not sure if my trials, tribulations, and injuries will actually encourage
anyone, but what the
hell, I had fun.
