What I like about keeping the bike stock with regard to ride height is good ground clearance--no whacking the underside on rocks or logs, no high centering crossing a sand berm, better lean angles, the rear tire won't eat up the rear fender/license plate as readily, and less overall suspension bottoming. Unless you just can't touch the ground, I don't see the point of lowering it. You can't always pick your stopping spots but most of the time you can; when you can't you just do the slide to the side trick that 5'9" Jimmy Lewis uses to control a 950 Adventure. But as you say Rick, to each his own. That's what makes this list fun, we all enjoy the same bike in differnt ways. __Arden
