I'm with ya, Jeff. My fastest bike is a '91 VX800 that tops out around 110mph. Plenty fast for me, and with the right rider it will give the sportbikes a run for their money in the twisties. Won't stay ahead of them on the straights.

I did a supermoto conversion on my Honda XR650L, and I used to really enjoy outrunning GSXR1000s and R1s on tight twisty roads. Heck, I seldom even had to use all the HP the bike had, which is about as much as a KLR (but with quite a bit less weight the way my XR was set up). Conservation of momementum and knowing how to ride goes a long way. Don, Actually here in the Dakota's (44.5N -99.45W (Elev. 1886 ft)), it is a daily event...~1730 today, even if you DON'T ride a KLR. shrug. revmaaatin.
