I like the idea of starting out at $3000. There is no difference between the 07 and 05. None at all. As far as a warranty-I really don't need one. The number of real catastophic failures that cost more than 1500 bucks are slim, and the odds are greatly in your favor. The bike has enough miles to determine that it is assembled properly. I bought my 01 with 3000 miles and had no issues at all. I paid $3000. In a couple of years they will both be "old models", several years old. I'd go with the used one, unless there is some damage, drops or such, its the same bike! Either way you're gonna love this motorcycle!!!
