Hmmm. WE must be eating at different troughs. If I get down that way,
maybe you could get me introduced to a 'good' mince meat pie....
Speaking of food anomolies--
And I suppose you might also like "Pork Pie" that national treasure
they sell in England to unsuspecting tourist as a brown-bag lunch! I
would like to go back and stuff that sucker up the nose of the travel
guide. cough. Maybe it was just a bad day for me--overcast on the
Salisbury Plain, looking at Stonehenge, holding a lump of greasy pork
in a deep fried pie filling. gag.
The best part of the day was to see a section of Brit Tornado's go by
in the valley at the speed of heat. Any day of flying/riding is better
than looking a pile of rocks--unless observed from the proper cockpit.
Seeing these guys covert jet fuel to noise made the trip all the more
memorable. For those who don't know, riding the KLR is very close to
flying. At least for me.
And for some KLR content--
Denty Moore stew is a perfect fit for the KLR stove--that little space
between your saddle bag strap as it crosses the muffler. Set the can
there ~1 hour before stopping to ride. It will be just right for
immediate consumption. Supper will be over before you buddy has found
his stove! smile.
Merry Christmas, one and all.

And a Merry Christmas to you too, Rev.
Riding my KLR reminds me of riding in a Huey in crosswinds. Hold on!
The foil packeted MRE entrees are great on the Laser ProDuro stove on my
KLR. Hey, here's a new thread, KLR Kooking. Skid Plate Flambe, Dog Leg
Link Osso Buco, the appetizers, entrees and desserts are
endless....................
May all of your KLR wishes come true.
Buddy

I don't claim to be a strong fellow but have picked it up several times in one day...Riding through the Mountains / hills above Moab on the way to Colorado. Heavy rain turned the dust to super slippery goo, clogging the wheels and reducing travel to about 1 1/2 mph of precarious balance..plus intermittant heavy showers...footing was treacherous...but faced the beast, grabbed the rear rack with one hand and the bar end with the other, pushed and lifted at the same time...definitely not easy but ....I am over 60...and managed about 5 times in a coupleof hours.
Once I hit pavement on the far side...late atnight...moonlight, glistening highway, motor purring, pure and absolute magic!!!!! Ended up in some funky, one off motel...old style...owner insisted on helping me wash off the bike the following morning...just a touch of pure Americana...and I'm a Canadian....
I tend to savour the memories of the tougher rides...
It is all good fun just as long as one does not take it too seriously.
Cheers
& the best of Christmas to one and all
Martin (From the Great White North...and it is really White this year!)
