dangit, i have to buy a battery charger!
I have tried to use the de-sulphonators with no apparent luck.
What does seem to work, are the little trickle chargers for $25, and keep
them plugged in.
But check them to make sure they go on float level charge, or they may have
a tendency to cook the battery. Helps to check the water level periodically,
which is why I like maintenance type batteries.
And yes, for recreational type periodic use vehicles like most motorcycles,
the number one cause of battery failure is lack of use sulphating.

Hi all;
When a battery goes toes up, it's usually because of sulfation. If you do a
google search for "battery desulfator" you will turn up a jillion web sites
about pulse-type desulfators. These are gadgets which shoot high frequency
electricity into the battery which causes the crystals of sulfation to vibrate
and break apart. There are even some DIY for people who can solder.
If you are like me, you will need to buy one which is ready to go, which can
be stand alone, or part of a charge & maintain system. I bought some and put
them onto batteries which were already dead because they say that they can
rejuvinate dead batteries. Well... maybe so, but not in my case. I'm not
really sure how they would do if you put it on a good battery which is charged by
driving.
Well, if I can't recommend them from my own experience, why am I suggesting
you look at them? Because they have been tested by people I trust (including
Home Power magazine) and they indicated that they do work.
