Anybody out there in KLR Land have a Clymer Repair Manual they would like to sell or rent. I have to retime my balancer and camshaft. By the way, if you have a lot of miles on your bike (my '03 has about 40K which is a lot to me)and you start having a strange growly noise from the engine it may be what has happened to mine. My noise just started one day when I cranked it up. I rode it easy to work for a couple of days before parking it. I have babied this bike since new. I took the balancer chain off and discovered that the rubber coating on one of the sprockets (front one) has torn and worn off in places and may be letting the chain rub metal to metal except for the teeth. I am not positive yet that this is the cause but seems to me to be it for now. I am going to replace all 3 sprockets and chain and test it. If it works I will let you know. Back to the reason for the post. Looking for a Clymer manual for '03 KLR 650. Thanks, John

timing lights nklr

This is NKLR because it is aimed at a 6 Volt system Yamaha. But anyway, I have not used a timing light for a couple of decades or so, and this question did not apply then. Are there 6 V timing lights, or can you change the bulb or something? I'm sure that when this came out they were probably using the candle that they read the Latin instruction book with also to time it, but I would like to do it the easy way, using electricity. Thanks in advance. DC
