ethanol issues and octane - plus water

The air fuel ratio will be corrected for by any modern computer controlled
engine. It will not know there is any ethanol at all.
For a carb engine? How much leaner does 100% alcohol make an engine run
over gasoline? Now figure you are only using a 10% blend of this "leaning"
mixture. It amounts to maybe a few percent change in air requirement.
Generally, there is enough fuel to not cause a problem. And if so, big deal. Shim
the needle on the KLR. And also, alcohol runs much cooler, reducing
difficulties caused by a lean condition in the first place. It runs so cool, that many
drag race cars run no radiator at all! I start my drag car on gasoline, and
when warm, switch to methanol.
By the way, a small amount of alcohol in a fuel system is a good thing, as
the alcohol will absorb the water that may get in a tank, removing the
possibility of rusting!
As far as taking away food, I don't really know, but the free market has an
amazing ability to adapt. You can't seriously think we can go on doing
things the way we are doing now? With so many people wanting to drive bloated
SUV's and other big, heavy cars all day long, complaining about the cost of
fuel, because Big Oil is screwing them? Or are you a mouthpiece for the oil
suppliers/companies trying to shoot down the competition???
So Big Farm is trying to get us? Ha Ha.
I think most people are too busy getting themselves.
I think your worries are much adoo about nothing.
