Widder also sells heated gear - http://www.widder.com/ The wife and I use Widders vest and electric gloves with a heattroller, so there is control of the heat. The wife especially, and me too, don't like to ride in cold weather. But based on the fact we live in the high country of Colorado (snowing here as I write this) we do ride in the cold. As this past winter, coming out of Batopilas and riding back to Creel with white roads and freezing temps, the Widder equipment did as good as it can with the weak KLR electrical output. Our riding partner into Creel didn't have any heated clothing and he was in way worst shape than us.

The thing about the Widder gear is that it's relatively low power, important on the KLR with its weak alternator. But you have to wear a tight shirt over it and a t-shirt under it with the vest to keep it pressed close against you because it doesn't have any "stretch" to it to keep the heating elements close to you. If Warmnsafe had theirs out back when I bought my vest I would have probably gone with theirs. Oh, and the Widder gloves are just too darned bulky and heavy and are not waterproof. My suspicion is that you're better off going with heated grips and good Thinsulate gloves, and if it's really really cold something like the "Polar Hands" snowmobile muffs that go over the handlebar and controls. If you have your electric vest turned up keeping your trunk nice and toasty your hands don't get cold as long as they have some good wind protection, indeed your problem becomes overheating if you don't watch it.

A Google search also notes: Gerbing, Aerostich's Kanetsu line, and new stuff by Tour Master that has individual temp controllers built into each glove, jacket, etc. Don R100, A6F

Ron, My KLR does not like 'moonshine' at OAT of 95F or greater. My stomach does not like moonshine at any temp. shrug. revmaaatin.
