When I got KLR #2, a 2006 with only 1500 miles on it, the owner proudly
told me that he had installed a UNI air filter and breather mod to the
filter box.
I didn't even have to take off the seat and side covers to see what he
had done: drilled holes in the filter access plate. But wait, it gets
even better!
It certainly had a UNI filter on it, and the filter was clean. But, it
was a sock type - the OPEN TOED tube variety! And nothing but the Stock
KLR cage underneath it. Doh!
... No wonder the filter was clean.
