Sensible People,
Where on the world do you find so much common sense as
on this group website?? Just the fact that we own a
KLR (or two)sets us apart from the rest of the
MC-folks, with this adaptable, no-nonsense,
inexpensive on-going hobby-project.
So, after sucking up, I must report that I received
the exhaust pipe gasket from the national Dealer, thru
my local Yamaha store. The exhaust pipe and the
golden donut is installed, the bike started instantly,
even after several weeks of inaction. No gas leakage,
everything sounds fine.
It remains a mystery why it wouldn t even start down
hill, a few weeks ago, the only thing I can think of
is that it protected me from doing damage to the
engine, as obviously something was wrong somewhere.
Whether this was Providence or just good luck is for
you to decide.
Since it is raining very often, (the weather must obey
the statistics) I plan on the lowering links and
linkage bearing change next. Anyhow, I cannot get out
of the house with the big bike. They decided to pour
concrete on the dirt street in front of my house, and
it is a 300 ft street, dead-end!, and they could do 10
feet on a good day, so..anyone can figure how long the
street will be closed to traffic? There is so much
evil stupidity that I come across every day.
Correct, only abt.two months!, taking into account
down time with rain. I manage to slip by on my toy
bike YBR125, pretty handy little thing, gets me
everywhere, no, haven t tried the moon yet.
I installed the speedbleeders I got from Fred on the
brake calipers, I think they are great, instant
pressure, brakes feel more tight. Drawback is they
stick out more that the stock bleedervalves, and could
be easily damaged when driving in loose stones and
branches, but I think we are creative enough to find a
solution for that? Or did I do something wrong again?
It could be possible, seeing my track record.
Absorbing your wisdom as always, Jake.
