neutral light and tach are dead

Post by Arden Kysely » Wed Nov 14, 2007 9:41 am

Last night on the way home I noticed that my neutral light was flakey. I'd move the gear lever between 1-N-2, and it would sometimes come on, sometimes just give me a wink. I finally got it to stay on. This morning on the way to work I noticed my tach was reading 0, then when I parked the bike the neutral light wouldn't come on no matter how much I fiddled with the shifter. I'll take a look at things this evening, just wondering if anyone has any ideas where to start. Thanks, __Arden

Thanks Walt! I hope it's that simple. I was just in there a couple weeks ago replacing my horn relay, wonder if I loosened something and didn't tighten it back up right. __Arden> From: a14@...> To: arden646@...; DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com> Subject: Re: [DSN_KLR650] Neutral Light and Tach are Dead> Date: Wed, 14 Nov 2007 16:00:44 +0000> > I would suspect a faulty ground. I would suspect a faulty ground. Not sure but I think the Black/Yellow- Stripe Wire which attaches to the frame at the top of the coolant tank by the VIN decal is for the guage assembly. I would suspect the problem to be there or at the back of the guages. Walt

tamale in zwolle ride on 11-16

Post by eddiebmauri » Wed Nov 14, 2007 11:50 am

Weather permitting, on Fri., 11-16, I am going on the following ride; anyone is invited. I am leaving Shreveport at about 10 AM and am riding to Logensport. Bring your Passport and flak jacket. At Logensport we will be leaving the US and entering Texas, Republic of, a Passport is now needed to enter that foreign country. In Texas, Republic of, I am heading south through the Sabine National Forest, and that is why you will need a flak jacket, I am told that Chaney hunts in that area! In Milam (Texas not Italy) I will re-enter the US, and ride to Zwolle (pronounced Zoo-Wally), the epicenter of Tamales in Louisiana. I am told that St. Joseph's Cemetery is interesting because of the historic headstones. A little morbid, but it should be interesting. I plan to hit some of the tamale joints, then head over to Natchitoches, (the epicenter of Meat Pies in LA) then return to Shreveport via Hwy 1. I plan for this to be about a 5-6 hour ride, mostly on Blue Highways. I am open to suggestions if you want to come along.
