Hey, I just want to say how happy to own a used 2000 KLR 650! I have owned it now for 2 months and put 2,100 miles on it! Coming from a Triumph 3 cyl world to a one lunger has been fun. Best of all the dirt/gravel roads that I have rediscovered! I'm planning a trip from Indiana to Northwest Coast next in aboout 45 days. I will leave it in storage and fly home. Visiting every 3 mos over the next 3 years and traveling up to the Alaska in 2008. I was lucky to find one that was used for a cont divide ride last year and has most of the modes you pros say to have. However, I going to add a few more and need some directions/feed back. I would be greatly thankful for your help. I dropped this big mule already and nickname him Frances the talking mule. Radiheator Guard - How about the HT? "Before I dent it" Gear Shifter - IM sounds good - "Yep bent that stock puppy" Clutch lever - OEM ? - "Yep broke part of it off" Fuel Pickcock - Pingel Pitcock? "Frances says his leaks must be a senior thing" LED Tail Light - What kit? - I have a heated vest and think I should save some watts and Frances says that if we do not get this he is going to kick the next close car on his tail. Tires - Avon Gripsters? Seat- I got have this one my old butt will not take any more of that seat. Rick M. or Russell ? "Frances back is just to narrow and hard. He says he has to have it to or I have to loose some lbs. I have to order a seat." LED tail light kit to put on my low cost top box -? Thanks, RancherRick and Frances says thanks too! ____________________________________________________________________________________ Shape Yahoo! in your own image. I guess I just couldn't stay away. This is new KLR #4 since 1999. I thought with the purchases of 1200 Triumph Trophy, VStrom 1000's, three H-D's, four Buells, Ural Gear-Up and now a new Kawasaki Versys (Canada Only) I was over the KLR pull. Not likely. This coming week I take delivery of a new blue 2008 KLR. Fred at Arrowhead likely missed me, because I bought everything and never took anything off the previous bikes. I just kept re-ordering everything. Having all the neat stuff to buy and install is a lot of the fun of a KLR. I guess I have about 50 thousand miles on KLR's and the whole experience of owning one is different from the other bikes I have had. My favorite rides today are my Ural sidecar rig with two wheel drive and my new C/Cubed Yamaha scooter. It is to replace my Honda Ruckus, which has given me 4000 miles of trouble free use in my small town. C/Cubed is 50cc, water cooled and fuel injected. State of the art, and 150 to the gallon to boot. The Ruckus only did 130 to the gallon, what a gas guzzler. As well as back at KLR's I am back in the motorbike business after a 23 year lay-off , after a fashion. Go to www.sidecarcity.com and you will see my new endeavor. The sidecar business is unbelievable. The number of sales I had hoped for in a year were achieved in the first month. Us old farts need some stability in our lives. What we can't get from Metamucil, we can achieve with a sidecar. I am glad to be back, and look forward to all that is new. Tom McKenzie
