Well, I have to say that the only thing I really don't like about the TKC-80's is the price. Well, that and short tread life. Other than that, they've performed quite well for me on both wet and dry pavement plus do a reasonable (though unexceptional) job offroad.

wingscreen winglet

Post by FtWorthRED » Tue May 15, 2007 10:03 pm

I am in the process of posting a report on how to make your own windscreen. I should have it posted next week. Mine is 19" wide by 16". This note is to suggest a simple solution to buffeting. Try making a small winglet that clips to the top of the windscreen. I have made 3 different designs, I keep trying to simplify it. Last week, I rode 13.5 hours with one made by bending Lexon in an L shape and suction cupping it to the underside of my windscreen. The winglet is 6" wide and the top edge is 2" off the windscreen surface. One of my designs made the curve from a caulk tube. The nice thing about the winglet is that it extends the effective height of the windscreen only the width of your helmet. The report should be on Mark's site soon. Look at this site. http://www.klr650.marknet.us/ Select DIY in the left margin [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
