I want to buy a good leather jacket. There is over 100 different
brands of leather jackets. I don't mind spending a little extra money
for quality. And also good riding waterproof nylon or polyester
jackets. Any suggestions.

Gonna have to give us more info than that. What conditions do you
intend to ride in with this jacket? What kind of styling do you want
-- cruiser, street, or crotch rocket?
Personally, I would go with a textile suit if you're intending to ride
under adverse conditions. That way you can get a waterproof one that
doesn't require stopping to put on a rain jacket. As far as waterproof
rain suits, if you add a windshield pretty much any suit works, even
the $12.95 two-piece rubberized polyester suits from Wal-Mart. When I
add my CF-30 to my KLR, my shoulders and the outer part of my chest
get rain, but the center part where the zipper/snaps are on the
el-cheapo rain suit does not. Not that I wear an el-cheapo rain suit
nowdays, my First Gear Kilimanjaro and HT overpants have kept me dry
in multi-day rainstorms so while I have various gripes about the
Kilimanjaro and the HT overpants, I can't say that they're really that
bad, especially if you get the latest-generation ones that fix most of
the problems that irritate me with the old-skool ones I have...

What kind of jacket do you want? For a 3/4 length touring jacket, Roadgear makes a knockoff
of the Hein Gericke Dakar that has given me years of good service. My only beef is that I can't
seem to keep zipper pulls on it. With the liner in, it is the warmest jacket I own. with it out, it
vents well and is surprisingly comfortable in hot weather. I don't know if the original HG is
still available.
If I wanted a set of leathers, cost no object, I would get the Langlitz catalog, order a set from
there, and prepare to wait..

I commute to work & after having my textile jacket (600 denier cordura) wear
through twice on very minor pavement slides, I bought this jacket:

Which has survived one slide already with hardly any visible effect. I had
it made 2" longer than standard.

The only ones I'd recommend are the ones made from "extra heavy top grain
cowhide". They make those in the store. A lot of the other ones are thinner,
cheaper Pakistani jackets.* *

Yup - a home-made vest AND a 12v chain oiler.
