bike died twice

Any thoughts? I was on my way to work rode ~ 30miles when the engine started cutting out then died like it had run out of gas. I did flip over to reserve while I was coasting to a stop but it did not restart. After letting it set for a minute or two I crank it over several times and it finally started. I went on my merry way for another couple of miles and it did it again. I got started and reduced my speed to 55-60 mph (from 70-75) and had no problems the rest of the way to work. (~8 miles). The way home no problems at any speed. Possible stuck float? or Plugged petcock? Any suggestions? Steve

Yeah, a bit o' junk in the carb, or possibly something plugging up the carb vent (have you done the t mod?) or tank vent line(s). Of course, your bike could have just been sandbagging and not wanting to go to work! :-) -- Blake Sobiloff http://sobiloff.typepad.com/blakeblog/> http://sobiloff.typepad.com/klr_adventure/> San Jose, CA (USA)

Funny you mentioned that. Our municipal water is a major source for several brands. Coca-Cola/Danone buys 5 million gallons of water from our town's pristine spring every day. So...I just used a shitload of Dasani to pressure wash the loose paint off my garage. I bet even bill Gates couldn't afford that. Over here, we're livin' large! Mark
