So it ISN'T Red ligh stop, green light go, yellow go faster? I was also informed by another KLRista that there is some kind of spring washer that is missing... Gonna look into that as well.

Try reducing the amount of times you use the brakes. Use engine compression and down shifting to assist in braking. Also, as I explained to my wife, when approaching traffic lights, you will without fail, absolutely every time, have a red light after the yellow light. Once she recognized and understood that infallible sequence, she started slowing down when she saw the yellow. Her brake replacements went from once a year to every five years.

This is a horse that has probably been beaten beyond death. But in
trying to swim through the archives, I have found nothing. Thus i am
asking here:
1)Why am I going through rear brakes? I just replaced them in March
and put 7000 - 8000 miles on (as well as 3 rear tires)
2)Why is the inboard pad wearing faster? That is why I am replacing
them this time and why I replaced them before... I clean (with emry
cloth) and lube the rods that the brake rides on... I make sure it is
moving smoothly too. What gives?

PS I have been searching for a better carb for the KLR and when I find
it I will let you know. I think Holly will be my best bet...
