Hello, from Sunny FL. Well, at least its sunny when it's not raining
which is almost everyday during this time of year. I am finally the
proud owner of 1999 (A-13)KLR with 7500 miles on it. I've wanted one
of these bikes for 15 years but college, 3 kids and low paying jobs
kept me from having one until now. However, last month I came across
this bike and I had a little extra money so now it is sitting in my
garage beside my 2001 Kawasaki ZR7S. I wanted to thank all of you for
the wealth of KLR knowledge which is freely dispersed through this
group. After reading your stories and thoughts on "the beast," I
couldn't pass it up so hopefully I'll be able to add my own thoughts
concerning this two-wheel smile producer in the near future. Oh, by
the way, my wife doesn't share the same "warm-fuzzies" for all of you
since I spent our Mickey Mouse Money to buy it. So don't plan on
stopping by for dinner if you visit Florida.
One quick note about the bike: I knew from all I'd read that this bike
was tall but why didn't someone warn new KLR owners to duck when going
under an overpass? I still haven't gotten use to high fiving truck
drivers when they pass me, however, I do enjoy the added feeling of
security that comes from being seen! That's all for now.
