I believe that Jeff gave a nice complete answer to your questions. I did a first housing that you can read about at
www.xanga.com/watt_man . Overall, I've been playing with bypass hose size over the summer. Jeff tried a different mounting location, directly on the head. Both have advantages and disadvantages.
Eagle Mike has shown interest in building them for the group, I just need to complete the prints. This will not lower the peak temperatures at all. It will, however, raise the minimum temperatures which I consider a problem in winter. In fact, even more importantly, it adds a bypass. I don't like the thermal swings the factory system goes through. You'll read about it at the site I quoted above.
