l shaped airbox mod effective?

I see some KLR owners have cut an L shaped section out of the top of the airbox to increase airflow. Can anyone tell me if this is worth doing? Thanks --rodger 05KLR650

Sounds like you have a bad cap gasket. I am not sure of the testing procedure for this, but I am pretty sure that it should not leak as you describe. -- Doug Herr doug@...
