Luke, Use the force. Sorry, but that just popped into my head and I had to use it. : ) Maybe try checking the fuses which are normally under the seat on top of the battery. Folks...If you find Rust on a major structural item (like this bolt) Do not leave it on and cover it with grease. I rust (if red) is evidence that the surface is pitted. (You may not be able to see it bu it is!! This pits are a real problem. THey hold moistur. If the rust is not removed it holds moisture! This moistureis bound in the iron oxide cmplex only loosly and can migrate back to the vigin m,etal surface causeing more rust. Also since red rust has started it is indicative that the FeO type controlled oxide (that should have been aplllied by the factory is gone . Okay ..now how to fix? Clean off the rust in affected areas ONLY with steel wool. Protect all bearing surfaces. Apply naval jelly per directions to rusted and cleaned area. Th enaval jelly is Highly acidic made from Phosphoric acid. THis applies both a controlled compact dense FeO layer whihc passivets the iron (steel ) surface adn aslo applied a phosphate protective laer over the FeO. THis acts as a scrificail coating similar to galvanizing (which is far more effective but not needed her0. Clean per directions. THen grease the snot out of the item. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! Mail has the best spam protection around http://mail.yahoo.com
