A good thing to do when you have the tank and seat and all that stuff off doing maintenance is take all the electrical connects apart and apply Dilectric Grease to them. Protects from the elements and enhances connection. We do that offshore lots so this stuff will survive the salt air and moisture conditions we have to deal with. Andy in SW Louisiana

Andy, Do you actually squirt the grease "into" the female portion of the connection or should it be applied only at the base of the two connections? Matt

Contact cleaner and di-electric grease in the garage one afternoon whilest you have everything apart to replace spark plugs, check valves, clean filters is much more fun than in timbuktu in a downpour or stuck in a creek or low water crossing. I highly recommend cleaning contacts and using di-electric grease on all the electrical contacts this little less than $5 maintenance task can make a big difference. JF Plano, TX A7
