I ride with a Wolfman Tank Bag, so I wax my KLR tank for protection with "Mothers California Gold Carnauba Cleaner Wax". It's worked fine for me so far. Try the Honda line of products. They work. A while ago someone in this group suggested Johnson Future floor wax liquid to really shine up and protect the KLR plastic. I keep meaning to try it out. A fast Internet search showed that it is used a lot by model builders to really shine up plastic models and make the clear plastic more glass-like. Mike A18

For a quick detail, Mother's "Back to Black" works well, and unlike Armor All, the plastic/rubber won't get all weird (crack & haze over worse than ever before) if you stop using it. Otherwise, I generally just wax my bike with any ol' paste wax, or sometimes Turtle Wax Swirl & Scratch Remover, which I also use to clean my helmet visor. Mark

Try "Pledge" or any other furniture polish. It works great on just about any plastic and as far as I can tell does no damage to the plastic.

For a quickie, that's good too... I forgot to mention that in my last email. A few years back, I bought a can of this stuff called "Slipstreamer" or something like that. It was polish for bike bodywork and windshields. It worked well, but I'd swear it was just Lemon Pledge repackaged in a smaller can and sold for twice the price.
