Yesterday I did the unthinkable..... I bought myself a Wee-Strom. I'll still be hanging out here as I kept the KLR and lowered it for my wife. She'll put a fair number of miles on it and I'll keep wrenching for her, so I'll be hanging out here. Keep ridin' one of the best bikes made!!!! Ron in MN A16 K5 Wee-Strom

Not really a traitor, you just like your verity. Now I on the other hand, will be a traitor. As soon as I save up some cash I'm selling the KLR and getting a XR650R and converting it to street use. -----Original Message----- From: DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com [mailto:DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com] On Behalf Of Ron Crandell Sent: Tuesday, June 21, 2005 2:45 PM To: DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com Subject: [DSN_KLR650] I guess I'm sort of a traitor Yesterday I did the unthinkable..... im also thinking of adding a 1000 strom as my main road ride. hey wolfy ...if u get an xr650r u might want to add the e-start kit. watched a guy try and kick one for 10 min be4 it finally fired in daytona this year. i heard they were easy to start ---- guess not. scott

At $900 for the electric start kit, I think I can use the exercise. If everything is tuned right and you don't go too nuts with the mods it should kick over easy and with few kicks. A friends has a street legal WR400 and that thing is a bit off on the jetting, it starts up in about 2-3 kicks. Having ordered a new Bat for my KLR and it taking forever to get here the first week of riding was spent kicking over my KLR600, after 1/2 hour of cursing it fired up. I like the XR because it very light, liquid cooled, big after market part selection. -----Original Message----- From: DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com [mailto:DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com] On Behalf Of mudslinger8883 Sent: Tuesday, June 21, 2005 8:09 PM To: DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com Subject: [DSN_KLR650] Re: I guess I'm sort of a traitor im also thinking of adding a 1000 strom as my main road ride. hey wolfy ...if u get an xr650r u might want to add the e-start kit. watched a guy try and kick one for 10 min be4 it finally fired in daytona this year. i heard they were easy to start ---- guess not. scott

Gary, I bought a 2005 from a dealer here in Washington. I didn't realize until after I got it home that it was a CA model. I asked the dealer about it and was told that they just get sent whatever Kawasaki has. The other 2005's they had did not have the CA emissions stuff.
