Not sure, but I think this is the online version: http://www.latimes.com/features/outdoors/la-os-topcampgrounds21jun21,1,3173738.story?coll=la-headlines-outdoors&ctrack=1&cset=true -- Doug Herr doug@...

after market exhast needs heat sheild

Post by pred777 » Tue Jun 21, 2005 4:11 pm

So I picked up an 87' klr650 a few monthes back as a fun ride to work, since I was so close to work i didnt notice too many problems until I rode it further. I was overheating when I stopped, after repairing a melted valve to my coolent reservoir I still had problems which I found to be a small hole my Supertrap exhast had created in the airbox, I have since steel taped it temporarily, but I wanted to find out if anyone has had to make a heat sheild for this spot or not? and the easiest way to do it if so... Thanks
