It was one of the last years before the r-134 update in '93-'94. I went through a r- 134 conversion on a prior vehicle with a mechanic at a tune of $700. I want to avoid that again so I've been searching the web for cheaper alternatives. A couple people went the Pep Boys r-134 conversion route with success. Anyone else on here try it and what were your results? Bonsall Baron 4 years on a r-134 conversion to a 90' El Dorado performed by Goodyear. Roch. Minn. Loaded system with Dye for free. $175 out the door with short term warranty not needed. 10-15 other shops quotes of $250-900 ALL TRIPLED when the word 'caddy' was mentioned. can you believe $3000 for A/C? UNREAL. 25,000 mi. on a front end alignment to a lifted small blocked 4x4 S-10. $90. Again, short term warranty not needed. Handles perfectly on all surfaces. Fully expect to get 60,000 mi. on those BF KO's. Amazingly even tread wear. This does'nt answer your Pep Boys question but Goodyear impressed me so much I had to let other readers know.
