proper tire pressure

Post by djhs4catsat404 » Sat Mar 12, 2005 4:08 pm

Whats the general rule of thumb on proper tire pressure. I was running stock tires on my 2005 at 35 psi as stated on the tire. Did not realize this was wrong until someone pointed out the tire wear. Lowered presure to 22 psi, talk about a difference on handling. I plan on ditching the stock tires for street tires, so what pressure do I run them at. Thanks in advance Gary

32/36 or so will give the best wear on the road. There is some disagreement over whether the bike will handle better with lower pressures. You will probably want to run them softer than that off pavement. 22/28 (the mfr. recommended pressures) is a good place to start. You may want to go even lower.

I know, there is still plenty of snow outside. But, are there any riders out there who want to hook up for some rides once it gets a bit warmer? Let me know.
