				Listers,

I just tried to view Jake's web page at
www.sagebrushmachine.com and it
says the domain has expired. Anybody have any contact info for Jake and
or know specifics about the countershaft nuts he was adapting for the
 KLR?

 Thanks,

 Jeff Saline

  Not a good sign.

I bought 2 nuts from him last year (one for a bud a backup for myself) and
he was, ah, not a happy guy when I talked with him (Spring '04).

I am keeping my second nut in reserve, but the first compression nut on my
KLR is simply as tight as new, and I have swapped sprocs about 20+ times.

 I hope he is OK!

I think Jake got fed up with this list, do not know the details, but I
think there were some personnel feelings that went sour, he might have
just said the heck with it and retired to ride his KLR.

vendor friday - tire report - part i
				Posted: Fri Feb 25, 2005 5:14 pm
				by Pat (M)
Well, the IRC GP-1's I ordered from American Moto Tire
www.americanmototire.com> arrived today, just 4 working days after I
ordered 'em. So, I'm very pleased with their service (much like
someone else's service we all know & appreciate). Their price was
pretty dern hard to beat, $84 for front & rear, plus $13 shipping.
While I always prefer giving a nod and 1st crack at my business to my
local dealer, he couldn't come anywhere close to this price.

Pat S, thanx for the background and your experiences with these. I
needed a set of less aggressive rubber than my tired MT-21's for a
coast trip to Monterey next month. I find it interesting that they're
billed as 50/50 'Trials' tires, my experience with them on my 250
Honda tells me they're more dirt worthy . . . we'll see on the bigger
bike. I'll pass along a full rider report later letting y'all know how
they work out up here in (Amazingly!!!) sunny, dry Washington.
