dual star rear brake master cylinder guard almost works

I lost my rear brake lever/pedal, mounting bracket and rear master
cylinder to a large rock that attacked my KLR. I added the green
stronger mounting bracket afterwards. Mark has a wire on his to
hold his brake lever/pedal so it cannot be torn away and take other
parts with it.
However, nothing I have seen would have saved my front half of my
rear brake system from the impact. My skidplate did save my
waterpump though.

Hi To all,
I am a new memeber of the group but not to KLR'S. I am on my 5th and
cannot survive without one. I have a BMW GS Adventure and a Suzuki
DRZ 400 S but will still pick the KLR out of the lot for a pleasure
ride.
I have laced up 17's to a spare set of hubs. 3.50 up front and 4.25
on the rear. New rotors front and rear from Brembo. Am I likely to
have any problems with clearance with tires? I have yet to mock up o
the bike and am looking at Avon150/R17 in the back with Avon120/R17
up front. Has anyone done this combo yet and am I likely to have any
problems that I am not seeing yet? Thanks for any info your can help
with.
