I'm using the Kings Tire KT-966 right now, which is chunky enough to do adequately on dirt (it's no DOT knobbie, but better than a Slipster), but has decent road manners. It does whine a bit on pavement, but also sticks fairly well too and once scrubbed in doesn't feel like a knobbie (unlike, say, the Kenda 270's). The only disconcerting thing I've found is that they tend to track pavement grooves VERY well... other than that, they have good road manners. -E> Finally wore through the Gripsters. some good low cost tires are the IRC GP-1 and DURO 904. The duro doesnt seem to like extended high speed driving (75+ph). my Duro seperated after a week. Others on the list have had great results with it. I must have got the tire from a bad batch. higher priced tires are Metzeler Enduro 3 Sahara, Michelin Sirac, Bridgestone Trailwing I seen Continental has a new 70/30 tire called the Conti Escape I have never tried it. my "opinion" is, you try the IRC GP-1 first> an 70/30 ratio road/dirt.
