im waiting for the bushings to be made for a set of klx 650 usd forks i have. they are the same fork as used on the kx 250 in certain years except for maybe valving and spring rate. im only changing them out because the stock forks are garbage offroad, atleast with the way i ride. as for the forks you have ... devon is using a set of the drz forks and i think he is pretty happy with them. you may want to contact him for his opinion on the drz forks. im not sure how you ride but the yz forks would be a better offroad fork atleast i would think so. they should already have the valving and spring rate to handle the offroad stuff but again check with devon on his opinion for the drz forks. just remember these klr's are tanks. the spring in either fork may need to be upgraded depending on riding style and your weight. good luck and take some pics of the custom trees and the completed project for us. scott

The valving on the DRZ forks will be closer to what you'd want with a heavy KLR. But the USD forks look cool. http://xd8ad0695.ip.e-nt.net/stem_machining_site/KLRZ_650_S.html The '01 DRZ forks I used came with .42kg/mm springs. I upgraded them to .44kg/mm springs, and now wish I hadn't. The '01 forks are cheapie damper rod forks, so I put cartridge emulators in them. I used DRZ triples and adapted a KLR stem to fit. If you use the DRZ forks, wheels and triples from 96-98 (or 96-99 or 96-97????) RM125 and RM250 will bolt up. I'm using an RM250 wheel and axle, with DRZ400-S forks, and DRZ400-E triples and caliper.
