I'm on the hunt for a good touring jacket but I can't spend $400 -
$600 for one. I saw one I liked on a site that sold Acerbis products
that sold for 143.95. Now, I can't find it again. Does anyone have
recommendations?

I just picked up a Jacket and Pants (Joe Rocket) from
www.newenough.com. It was a closeout special for less than $250
delivered. They have plenty of other jackets and such for cheap $$.

Will,
Motorcycle Closeouts has the original FirstGear
Kilimanjaro for $158.00. I have been using this jacket
for almost five years and have been pretty happy with
it.

The Belstaff Discovery is another good jacket from
what I hear. There are usually some goods deals on
Belstaff stuff on Ebay.

Wrong. The original Kilimanjaro is made of heavy duty leather. I
wear one all year long. I had a nylon version and quickly got rid of
it, too hot and sweaty. I love my leather Kili, and almost no one
else has one. Plus it has great pockets and breathes air like no
other vented jacket. I wear it all summer. I've worn it since I got
it in 96, about the time they stopped being made.

New Enough Leathers
http://www.newenough.com/ always has closeout
stuff. The last time I looked they had Joe Rocket Revolution jackets at a
real value price. Worth looking at, imo. Don't know anything about Acerbis.

Also check
http://www.motorcyclecloseouts.com/ they have odd lots, but
very frequently have 3/4 length touring jackets of varying types.

I really like my Cycloak Evolution jacket that I bought from motorcycle
closeouts. The armor wasn't confidence inspiring so I upgraded it, but
otherwise the jacket has been great.

I hit their page while "working" this afternoon in the office. They
have the Firstgear "Baron" jacket in stock. It is crudely similar to
the Hein Gericke Dakar jacket, and also to my original leather
Kilimanjaro. I don't think the Baron would fit me. I did select a
Firstgear Summer Chief jacket. I had one of these last year and loved
it, but it was an XL and made for someone fatter than I. So I sold it
to someone fatter. You see, at 53 this month I am still slim and
trim, and look good on a motorcycle. So I was pleased to buy this
absolutely first-rate stylish jacket in a different size, LT, which I
hope will fit. This jacket has perforated leather, one big chest
pocket similar to what is on the Kilimanjaro chest, and antiqued
bronze zippers. I sure hope if fits, I'll look good in it on the Moto
Guzzi I put a deposit on Saturday while in San Francisco.
Look for me, I'll be the one with two chicks both named "Gina". Yes,
the ones with the long legs.
Hey, why not dream a little?

I thought I had most venders on reserve. Thanks for the reference, but they
do not have my size, but great site. I sent it (the home-site) link back to
the KLR group and am sending this reply to you and list to affirm the fact
that you sent me the main link - I simply reduced it to the core for other
to use.
Thanks John.
