I have the ortleib drybags (throwover type) and the Happy-trail.com OSR racks. I like this system because you have a minimum of hardware bolted onto the bike, and the racks don't need to be at all straight to keep the bags off the exhaust pipe. One of my OSR racks is mildly bent, the same accident that cracked a fork slider. I never bother to straighten or replace it. I also have a couple of Ortleib dry duffels. These are really nice in heavy rain, or if you have to ride through some mud. I also have the JCwhitney removeable top box which I highly recommend. Devon bdmassey@... wrote:

depends on what your needs are. i recently found a mid-sized Otter box that 'll be installing as a top box for lockable day-to-day use, and plan on getting a Wolfman Enduro tankbag and since i have a Corbin seat, i'll probably get the Wolfman Beta rear bag for weekend trips. i'm not anticipating anything longer than a 3 or 4 day weekend, and this looks like it'll work for my percieved needs since i'm used to travelling kinda light. if you are planing a transcontinental or global tour, or otherwise intend to live on the bike for extended periods, you'll need, or at east want somehting more. i just wish Wolfman made somehting between the Enduro and the Explorer... one's too big and the other's almost too small. fixer KLR A1 #1197 Lost Wages, NV

As good as the Wolfman products are, the Ortleibs are the way to go in my book. They win on their basic simplicity and ability to do the job without any unecessary frills or gimmicks. I have used these bags exclusively for about 8 years now and they work on just about any bike. Same goes for the Ortleib duffle. When your buddies are struggling with stuff that got wet or zippers that go south, you'll aprreciate the simplicity of the Ortleib luggage. Gino Rider VAlley Motorcycles.
