I picked up an old centerstand that's got a "Five Stars" label on
it. It looks different than the ones I see on Dual-star etc. It
need a touch of welding before I mount it but I'm wondering if it's
worth using. Any opinions?

pigfest 7 - clear creek ca - april 10th
Pigfest 7 details - Sat April 10th @ Clear creek Ca.
We will be up there thurs nite/fri morning and will park in the first staging area just inside the front gate. I will put up some kinda little (and probably pretty crude) sign. I will try to tape off an area for other folks to park their rigs if they ask me to in advance.
I will bring wood for a good fire and will even feed dinner on sat nite to anyone who RSVP's with me so I can make sure I have enough. Dont expect gourmet - think more along the lines of sustenance. Owning a BRP is only required if you dont want us to give you a hard time about whatever else you are riding (except KLR's because I have one of those too
otherwise all are welcome.
Hope to See ya there

five stars centerstand?

I like my Five Stars stand. You'll want to get special hardened bolts to install the stand, Arrowhead Motorsports or Sagebrush machine shop should have them. Here are a couple of photos that give a visual contrast of the 5 stars vs. the Dual Star. http://www.angelfire.com/co/klr650/images/centerstand.jpg http://www.angelfire.com/co/klr650/images/dual_star.jpg http://www.angelfire.com/co/klr650/images/five_stars.jpg Personally, I think the 5 stars stand is more practical, as from what I've seen the Dual-star barely lifts the rear wheel off of the ground. That may be due to suspension differences,( sag adjustment?) I don't know. With my 5 stars I can get either the front or the rear off of the ground. The five stars are to the best of my knowledge, no longer available, so everyone else uses the Dual Star, also known as the Africa Twin? stand and sold all over the place.
