back to the group, and a cold start problem

Howdy y'all,
I am back after some 4 month lapse... what's up?
Anyways, I have a bug: my KLR has some 30K miles on it and it starts
funny when cold. Doesn't fire up for a while, but backfires a lot -
until it catches up after some serious cranking. New plug a couple of
months ago, decent spark, just ran a can of SeaFoam through the carbs
(a panacea I picked up on the other bike list). Could it be - horrors!
- KACR sticking??? Please suggest if I need to go and buy that truck I
was eyeing for a while...
