looks like the partnership with suzuki has finally allowed for a
decent colour

Is very pretty in red. But anyone know if anything has actually 'changed' on it? I would
suppose not, but can't find any information either way.

Ryan and I both thank you all for your kind support throughout his
ordeal. Now we are going back to doing what we want to do the most--
-riding.
I went back down to my local dealer today in Gulfport, Mississippi
and asked the sales manager to sell me the first red 2004 KLR 650
that comes in. He agreed and the deal is set. $100.00 down and
balance on delivery. $5150.00 OTD Fair price for both of us.
Even though we found a couple dealers that had the 2003's in stock,
neither one of us like the green. Green is OK, but KLR green is
just hard on the eyeballs. The only color that could possibly look
worse is pink. IMHO
Now---I have to go through all the modification processes again:
Highway pegs, aluminum skidplate, saddle bag mounts, hard saddle
bags, doohickey replacement, fog lights, GPS mount, tall
windshield, better seat, progressive springs, BMW accessory plug
(s), acquire both shop manuals again, aluminum hand guards,
throttle lock, CB mount, T-Mod, Tank bag, heat troller, new body
armor, etc. Did I miss anything?
See you on the road. Gonna do our best to make it to Moab next
spring.

I've put 600 miles on it since purchased. I'm a little confused about
this Doohickey thing. Do I need to be concerned about this now? How
will I know if I have a problem before its to late? This Sagebrush
replacement parts in the KLR FAQ...will this fix it permanently? Is
the Sagebrush the best fix? Thanks to all ahead of time for your
comments!! First KLR I've ever owned. Just want to enjoy it instead
of working on it.
picking up bike

Sam,
Since you asked for advice... start riding as soon as you can. Stop
every hour or so for a quick break and walk around the bike. Bring ear
plugs and wear them. Don't forget to check the tire pressure. Not sure
of the route but if you can ride Highway 1 in Oklahoma, the Talahina
Highway????, enjoy it. Remember to lube the chain.
