silver paint

Has anyone been able to match the Silver paint on the frame and swingarm to a touch-up paint code? My AutoZone down the road has about a dozen silvers (colorRite and Duplo??something I think it is). I would appreciate knowing the manufacturer and code if you have had success in this area. Thanks, Brad A9 __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? I just used Aluminum paint in a spray can purchased at a local hardware store. Looked fine, seems to last as well. Ride Safely, Rob Tayloe Columbus, Ohio

Brad: Having just made saddlebag supports for my KLR I know for a fact that Dupli-Color Steel Finish Wheel Paint matches PERFECTLY. I got mine at an auto parts store but saw the same thing later at Wal Mart. Hope this helps. Ron Coker

In a fit of artistic rage I sprayed the header pipe heat shield with a rattle can of KRYLON #1402 Hi-Temp Aluminum. Got 2 surprises; 1) It looked good (IMHO), and 2) The color and semi-gloss finish matched the frame/swingarm perfectly! CHUCK Colorado A13 _________________________________________

I wire brushed and painted my muffler about a year or so ago. Still doing good. Din't paint the head pipe though. It's still factory black. Andy in Louisiana A14 '02 R1150GSA

How far do you have to "march" and where do you put the nail? :] Hans in Minneapolis
