I've gotten some smart-a** responses to my post.
(surprise) Some people incorrectly interpreted my
comments to be 'against safety' and promoting
overconfidence.
I apologize for not specifying road riding when I
posted it and it wasn't a slam at all against safe
riding, which I certainly advocate.
I agree with the intent (which I guess is to 'scare'
new riders into riding safely) but not the message. I
guess the '2 riders' comment is akin to sending out
your 16 year old who just got their licence with a
cheerful "You're going to crash !" comment as they
walk out the door....
Below is a reponse to one of the reponses received but
"Herm" gets the Forrest Gump award for his most
elequant response.
Wrong. I always wear a full-faced,brightly-coloured helmet>I'll bet you ride your motorcycle without a helmet, >don't you?
Wrong again.>You probably wear no gloves, and ride with >shorts and sandals, huh?
If it's not true, then why say it ? There are many better, more accurate ways of getting the point across>Personally, I think it's a great saying (2 kinds of >riders). Whether it's true or not, it serves as a >reminder that you better do everything you can to >improve your chances to not get hurt.
It pisses me off, too;but who wasn't advocating safety ? If you got that from my message, you read it wrong.>It really pisses me off when people don't advocate >safety.
out>I suggest people go fall down on small, slow bikes
Who wants to go out and buy a small, slow bike for that ? (Gee, let's go into the woods and ride a junk bike into a tree so I'll be ready when I plow into that pickup..) ===== Sammamish, WA '94 klr650 '03 ZR-7S '86 klr250 '86 yam it200n KLR 650 FAQ's http://www.bigcee.com/klr650faq.html __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
