I installed by Pro Rally hand guards with spoiler last night and the throttle doesn't roll freely. I added grease to the edge, I loosened the fastener a bit, but I can't see where it is binding. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks.

Does anyone have any advice? Thanks. I've went thru this a lot---------if the throttle wasn't binding before you put the guards on, obviously the problem isn't in your throttle. It has to be binding right where the guard mounts to the bar ends. Sometimes this isn't so obvious---and there is probably a little trimming to be somewhere on the end--maybe on the grip itself. Seems just the least bit of rubbing can cause a lot of binding. And I hate riding a bike with a hard to use throttle. You may even need to slide the throttle onto the bar more to help out the situation--look again closely. Mark Sampson www.bigdogadventures.com

When I installed mine the throttle bound up if I tightened them too much ... so I left them loose enough to not effect the throttle but tight enough that they don't move without a fair amount of effort. It's worked so far. -ben kirkland, wa '99 KLR650 --- Mark Sampson wrote:

Hey Guys, Not 100% sure I'll sell this thing, I'm really torn, but here goes. Clear title (original owner) Less than 15,000 miles (98% street) on it. Distanzias front and rear with plenty of tread life. Low mount front fender. Highway Pegs. I want $2850.00 for it. I'm asking this, because I've got some cosmetic damage on the bike as follows and am in the mood to sell. The left side of the tank is scraped and slightly dented. Left shroud is toast. Radiator and radiator fan has been dented and tweaked, but functions fine. The cowling is also toasted, but I have a new one on the way. As I stated earlier, I am torn about selling it, so act quickly if you are interested in it. Located south of Atlanta, GA. Contact me for more details by email-dnmwilhite@..., home (770)467- 9525 or work (770) 229-5565 ext. 296.
