I'm pretty new to the KLR scene. My bike was running just fine today when all the sudden it won't idle without dying. The only way I can start it is to hold the trottle wide open. Any thoughts? It has been running good all spring until today. Thanks, Richard

its an LPS (Little Piece of Sh!t) in the carb holding your needle open. close the petcock and start the bike try keeping it running after a minute see if it will idle. then open up the petcok and see if it dies. if it does its LPS in the bowl. --- In DSN_klr650@yahoogroups.com, "Richard Knipe" wrote:

Sounds to me like a ripped carby CV piston diaphragm. This has happened to me in the past but the failure was more gradual. Once a small tear starts and the carby misbehaves enough to cause the occasional backfire through the intake, I suspect that the additional backfires damage the rubber diaphragm more. This is my first post, so I hope this works right. My wife works for AAA so I just asked her what the deal was. She says that you have to have AAA Plus RV in order to have motorcycle towing. Seems a little much to me. I have it through her but have never used it. Troy [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
