Hi, I just fired up my '86 KLR600 with her new rings and valve job. Wow what a difference. The bike sat for years with 8000 kms on it and the rings collapsed last year when I started riding it again. I discovered the valves were not sealing and they likely did a poor job of it even from new. The Int ports were more like 2 holes drilled to connect at right angles than actually flow any air. Lots of blending to be done there. I put some didgital pics on the photo list for anyone interested. The 600 and 650 heads are identical part numbers so I suspect you 650 riders could be in the same boat valve and port wise. Easy work to do and with tremendous rewards. rob
