Is there a neat trick to getting the old oil filter out of the KLR
without splashing a cup of oil out every time?

Get that motor plenty hot. Drain the oil for a few minutes. Lean the bike over to the right, and hold it there. Hot oil will slowly drain from the filter, down a hole in the motor. Pop the cover and slowly remove the filter. Penzoil 20-50 for my little piglet. Larry
