Saw an ad in the Cycletrader for an '89 with 22k, asking $1850. Any opinions on value? Anything in particular I should look for if/when I go see the bike? What questions should I ask about part upgrades? Any help would be much appreciated. Thnx Alex

Published by Chicago Review Press, ISBN 1-55652-440-4; in Barnes and Noble in the travel narrative section. At page 52, refers to this list, with affection, as "KLR Dork List" and saying: "Oh hell, they'll probably be the first to tell you they're moto-dweebs."

In my opinion you want lower miles. I always look for klr 650's w/ 3000-8000 miles. I bought a 95 w/ 8000 in the last year for 2400. I spent 300 bucks transporting it. I bought a 87 in 91 w/ 3000 miles for 1500. A steal. I only settled for butt ugly 95 because all the 1988-2001's for 2800- 3500 bucks and 3000 miles on them were sold on issue date of cycle trader.... My only theory is HOW LONG would I feel like going w/ no oil change or any maint. esp when bought new. I say 3000-5000 miles I'd prob give 1300 bucks for your said bike. Buy one after christmas or before tax day. Better deals. Sometimes way better deals. This is only my opinion.
