I have Gearsack throwovers that I have used in the past. If you don't use some kind of soft cloth, like a towel, between the sidecovers and saddlebags then the sidecovers tend to get scuffed but not so bad that some adhesive vinyl sheet won't cover it up. The Gearsack bags have a couple of straps with hooks to clip under the edge of the seat. I guess the Heiny bags would have something similar. The metal clip may have trouble slipping under the edge of a KLR seat since the seats fits fairly close to the sidecover. Perhaps some modifications to the clips are in order.
