I can't give you any good advice on pulling monos, I've only ever
done _one_ really good one and that was mostly by accident.
However:
As you are in the UK, it shouldn't be too hard for you to get some
vids by "Fast Bikes" magazine, specifically the "How to Pull Wheelies
and Influence People" series. I think they are up to Part III now.
The vids are not extremely instructive, but there is some advice from
stunter Craig Jones in part 1.
If you like seeing pommy bikers annoying French bystanders by
pulling monos and doing burnouts then you should find plenty of laughs,
too.
In fact, I recommend most "Fast Bikes" vids. I can't remember seeing
a dud one by them yet.

A while back there was a lot of discussion about wheelies
with a shaft drive. Came across this today:

Looks like he spent a lot of money on getting more than the stock
12HP out of that bike.

Who are these physics gurus who on that site who say that shaft drive bikes
can't wheelie?! They should pick up a copy of Gary Rothwell's video, where
he wheelies through the gears on an old KZ shaft drive.
I was talking to Jordan Szoke (the AMA roadracer) about wheelies. He claims
that he did a pretty good one on a Gold Wing with his girlfriend on the
back. I've got a couple of pics from mags with Wings doing wheelies. Of
course it's possible that they were faked, but some bikes like the V-Max
aren't hard to wheelie.

Once your moving, no way. I've had the front wheel up about 6-8 inches. It might go higher...but I'm not about to find out.

It seems to me that the 1983 Honda V65 Magna was the wheelie king in its
day, and it was shaft drive. Magazines reported that it would wheelie even
if you sat on the gas tank.
