how to remove old grip? and others...

Hi,
I bought a Tengai last week. It's cool!
In low RPM it gives high noise with vibration, especially when I suddenly open the throttle. After reaching 3-4000 RPM the sound goes smooth. Is this feature of KLR or I should check something?
I was told that the valves were not checked at least in the last 10,000 km for sure, but probably never (it has almost 30,000 km in it). Can it cause any problem if I still don't check the valves?
The idling is about 1100 RPM on my bike. Isn't it too high? How can I adjust it? (I have no service manual yet)
I read that '91 Tengai 650 has 42 HP. But the KLX has 45 HP. What is the difference? Do you make any performance tunning with KLR?
Can the sound level be decreased with other exhaust pipe? I would like to have as low laudness as possible.
Do you know any higher windscreen made especially for Tengai?
Where do you store your stuff on the bike? Mine has a rear bag, but I don't want to store the tools, first aid kit and rain coat in it. Do you know any good - hided - places for them? (I was thinking of under the seat, for example)
By the way, I always get in front on the seat - perhaps because it is lower in front. Do you recommend to change the stock seat?
I would like to change the old grip but unable to remove it.
Do you have any tricky solution to change grips?
BR,
Zsolt
